Tomo Epiphany French Pastry

How to combine a French tradition with a love for Japanese pastries?

At the beginning of the year, for the Epiphany, the French tradition is to eat the "Galette des Rois" - the Kings' cake. This year, I had the Japanese adaptation of this pastry!

The usual Galette in Paris is filled with almond paste. TOMO pastry shop offers two options: they replaced the almond paste with either Sesame paste or Anko (red bean) paste which you usually find in "Dorayakis".

With my friend, we decided to order one of each so we could taste both! They were so delicious they went down real fast even though for lunch we had the "Omeraisu" a huge omelette with rice inside and curry sauce...

The matcha tea was as good as always... I highly recommend Tomo if you have a craving for Japanese food while in Paris.
