Paris Flower Market at île de la Cité

If you need to find flowers or plants while in Paris, head to métro Cité and explore the flower market aka “marché aux fleurs” aka “marché aux fleurs Reine Elizabeth II. The few stalls that are closed used to sell birds and they were shut down in 2022.

The original flower market was created during Napoleon’s time to replace another market that had to be relocated. A century later, it was rebuilt using steel and glass for the flower stands inspired from the Art Nouveau period.

The market being now two hundred years old, it is time for another renovation which should be finished by 2028. Enjoy!
