Paray-le-Monial - Sacré Coeur Movie
“The times they are a changing…” sang Bob Dylan…
Who knew a movie advertising could be banned in France for the sole reason of conveying a Catholic image… Such was the decision of both the SNCF (train network) and the RATP (Paris public transportation network)… The image that is so controversial is the Sacred Heart of Jesus…!
That actually made me want to see the movie, so well done transportation networks! The film is based on the story of Sainte Marguerite-Marie, a nun who experienced many apparitions of Jesus, showing her his Sacred Heart. This took place from 1673 to 1675 in Paray-le-Monial in the Burgundy region.
The movie is actually a hybrid film/documentary with interviews of many people alive today whose lives were transformed for having visited Paray-le-Monial where the visions took place. It is really a film about faith and hope, nothing that should have been perceived as controversial… Joyeux Noël !
