Notre-Dame - Installation of the Restored Bells
If you were in the center of Paris this past Friday 8 November, you would have heard a beautiful sound we have not heard in five years: that of the bells of Notre-Dame!
About two months ago, the ten bells returned to the northern belfry which had been damaged by the fire. The bells weigh tons so they had to be removed during the restoration. They also all had to be given a little cleaning care and some fixing for two of them.
This past Friday, they resonated again as they were being tested in view of the reopening coming up very soon early December! Visitors will have to sign up and queue up for this long awaited reopening! Stay tuned!
Kudos again to all the workers, past and present!
