Lutetia Five Star Palace Hôtel
There are plenty of five-star hotels and palaces in Paris, most of them are housed in "classic" buildings predated 1900. That's what makes the beautiful Lutetia Hotel stand out, is that it was built early 1900's in the midst of the Art Nouveau movement, hence its vegetal motifs on the façade.
Foliage and grappes are sculpted around the window openings. The grapes are a reminder of the vines of Lutetia - which was the name of Paris during the Roman Empire.
Every time I pass it, I can spot people stoping and staring at it. It is impossible to refrain from doing that, even for me who has passed it hundreds of times! It's located on the left bank near metro Sèvres-Babylone, steps from the Bon Marché. Enjoy!
