Art Deco Fountain at Porte de Saint-Cloud

This beautiful pair of fountains stand on the Porte de Saint-Cloud which marks the border of Paris between the 16th arrondissement and the suburb of Boulogne-Billancourt. It is a great example of Art Deco architecture.

They were created in 1937 for the occasion of the Universal Exhibition and the frescos were sculpted by Paul Landowski (you may know his famous statue of Jesus overlooking Rio de Janeiro.

The fountains were renovated just a couple of years ago, yet sadly, one of them has already lost the benefit of the renovation… There goes our tax money…
