1848 French Revolution

Oops! They did it again!!! From 22 to 25 February 1848, the French people rose up for a third Revolution! In just a few days, they took control of Paris and forced King Louis-Philippe to abdicate.

The second Republic was proclaimed and a temporary government was set up. At last, the French people will have the opportunity to vote and choose their very first President a few months later.

Even though, this French Revolution is less known than the very first one in 1789, it marks the beginning of the "Springtime of the Peoples" that shook Europe.
